I was born outside Utica, New York. I grew up near, and then in, the city of Rochester, New York; a mid-sized formerly thriving industrial city that was decaying by the time I was a teen. I was raised by a hippy, with the accompanying values of that movement and that time. I got all punk rock in the eighties, and had many an adventure with my friends of that time, learning much of what formed the man I am now. I met my life’s love in the early nineties, and (eventually) married her in the early naughts. Then I made two babies with her and discovered my life’s only real regret: that I didn’t become a father sooner. Becoming a father made me want to leave the American culture behind (my hippy upbringing and punk rock youth only being hidden by adulthood, not abandoned), so I left the states for New Zealand – my present home. Now I have a blog to tell you about all that and then some. Maybe you’ll like it. Maybe you won’t. But I’ll spill it here, served neat no rocks. I’ll tip one for Paul once and a while, and if you read long enough you’ll get why.
